Heath Steinbeck represents Yeah1 Group Corporation in its acquisition of the equity of ScaleLab, LLC.

January 2019

The firm recently advised Yeah1 Group Corporation, one the largest digital media conglomerates in Southeast Asia, in its successful acquisition of Hollywood, California-based leading digital content creator ScaleLab, LLC.  The acquisition is Yeah1’s initial expansion into the U.S. digital media market.

Heath Steinbeck represents Yeah1 Group Corporation in its acquisition of assets from DEFY Media, LLC.

Steve Heath quoted in Philadelphia Business Journal on investment dispute involving Italian soccer club

Firm partner Steve Heath was recently quoted in a Philadelphia Business Journal article on a financial dispute surrounding Venezia FC, a prominent Italian soccer club. The article, entitled Risky Play, describes how the club is suing a Philadelphia-based private equity fund for allegedly reneging on a deal to provide a much-needed cash injection into the business. Steve’s commentary focuses on how the club will likely face an uphill battle in proving fraud in the context of a specialized business transaction. The firm has been engaged as general counsel to M.R. Walls, LLC, the firm of celebrated designer Mario Romano. Mr. Romano has developed an innovative design and digital fabrication process for custom architectural fixtures in residential and commercial properties. He designed and developed the famed “Wave House” located in Venice, California.

International beverage and sprits company hires Heath Steinbeck as counsel

October 2017

Intrepid Spirits, an international beverage company focused on the development, production, and distribution of heritage spirits brands, has hired the firm has general counsel. Intrepid’s brands include Egan’s Irish Whiskey and Mad March Hare. The firm’s responsibilities include advising Intrepid with respect to corporate governance and transactions, as well as handling the legal side of its day-to-day operations.

Heath Steinbeck obtains six-figure judgment and dismissal of counter-claims in Southern District of Texas

August 2017

The firm recently obtained a judgment for Smash Enterprises, a Melbourne, Australia-based manufacturer of ‘back to school’ products, in a lawsuit against its former U.S. distributor. The lawsuit was brought under the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the Sale of International Goods and proceeded in federal court in Texas. After successfully moving to dismiss the distributor’s key counter-claim for misappropriation of trade secrets, Heath Steinbeck secured a pre-trial judgment on Smash’s breach of contract claims, as well as a dismissal with prejudice of the former distributor’s remaining contract and interference claims.

Heath Steinbeck engaged to represent talent consultant in dispute over CarMax advertising campaign

March 2017

The firm recently filed a breach of contract and contractual interference lawsuit against a national marketing firm and Fortune 500 car retailer CarMax. The lawsuit alleges that the defendants breached an agreement for pay a consultant’s fee in connection with a marketing campaign concerning a well-known celebrity, and is proceeding in the Los Angeles Superior Court.
